Mr. Nobody

Tonight I watched a movie I intended to watch for a little while now. A friend from work gave it to me and said it was really good. as she has good taste and loves movies, I trusted her opinon.

I have never hear about MR NOBODY before as it never hit the cinemas in Brazil. I have a great discovery. The funny is intriguing, the plot is well developed. It is wierd and non-sens for a while and, by the time you pick it up, you can not stop thinking about your own life and choices.

The movie shows possible lives of Mr Nobody based on possible life choices he makes or is is put in to. The film message is that we cant go back, thats why it is hard to choose. So, you´ve got to make the right choice. As long as you don't choose, everything remains possible. But each of these lives is the right one! Every path is the right path. Everything could have been everything else and it will have just as much meaning.

A good passage from the movie is the following phrase said by Nemo: I am not afraid to die. I am afraid I havent been alive enough.

You can see all quotes form the movie here!

Check the movie trailler here!

Description: Nemo Nobody leads an ordinary existence at his wife's side, Elise, and their 3 children, until the day when reality skids and he wakes up as an old man in the year 2092. At 120, Mr. Nobody is both the oldest man in the world and the last mortal of a new mankind where nobody dies anymore. But that doesn't seem to interest or bother him very much. The only questions that preoccupy him in the present is whether he lived the right life for himself, loved the woman whom he was supposed to love, and had the children whom he was meant to have... now his purpose is to find the right answer.

It is worth watching it. It makes you rethink your choices and your life path...
Its never too late to WAKE UP.

Afternoon at URCA

Yesterday, I spent the whole day at Urca - one of the most beautiful Rio´s neighborhood -
doing nothing but talking, talking, talking and biking.

I found out a great bar called Bar Urca, which is a dirty feet bar in front of the bay. People grab their food and driks and sit on the bleacher to enjoy the view and the talk. A friend and I had sardine and a shrimp + cheese croquette. It was great!

The talk and the view are the best source of inspiration. Whenever you want to be filled up with ideas and wishes to read, to make art, to be pro-active and you are blessed to have this sceneary 15 minutes from your home...explore it! No white canvas, white papers, random chords can frighten you.

View from the Garota da Urca´s restaurant! The mountains align perfectly.

Peek the Bird!

Let´s take  peek at Jen Mankins, Bird´s owner house! Bird is a great NYC shop. I love how you can see a home personality. The objects and collors tell a story, tell a story of someone interesting and particular. That´s what home decor should do.

    Jen´s quote:

My decorating style is really eclectic and it would be an understatement to say I am not a minimalist! I love to mix and match styles, textures, colors, the more the better.  My husband is Swedish and I have been traveling to Stockholm with him for 12 years now. I have been greatly influenced by Scandinavian design, with its clean modern lines and shapes, but I love it paired back to all the hand-crafts, art and objects we pick up from our other travels. My personal design aesthetic definitely comes through in my shops and vice versa, there’s a lot of cross over.  I have been really inspired by and have learned tons working with my great friend Ole Sondresen, the architect of my stores.  He hails from Norway so brings his own dose of Scandinavian design history, focusing on the quality and integrity of the materials and the construction. We both agree that you can never have too much beautiful wood in a space. And I always try to incorporate some Josef Frank fabric from Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm. I am obsessed!

Love the HUG pillow.

What are those bottles there on the window?

I love shelves and books in an open and broad space.

I need a huge desk to work and organize my stuffs. A small desk like that would not do for me..but I love the pictures.

Nive beach pictures!

I love this house. It seems clear, energetic by the user of collors like orange and white and choice of fun decor objects.

Inspire Me Dammit

Here again I post about Hugh's cartoon. I love his work. Check out today's drawing.

And here is what he has to say about it:

Some might say that i'm in the inspiration business. I draw, I write, but in order to do that, I need to find inspiration.
Having worked in many industries over the years, I find the least inspiring people are in businesses that are insular and run by cliques. Everybody thinks, says and does the same things. The UK wine trade is like this, for example.
One reason why I love tech is that folks in this business thrive on creation, reinvention, and an innate curiosity about the world around them- they live in a world where there are no boundaries.
Like I've said to a bunch of non-tech clients: Run your business as if it was a tech start up. Yes, especially if you are in an old fashioned business. You'll be inspired every day.
